I used to worry much more about what I thought God wanted me to do versus who He wanted me to be. That changed for me last year. Now, with the fresh understanding of who He wants me to be, I let Him guide me on what He wants me to do, "in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5)
You may start with your own plan in life, but remember that God may have another one for you, "Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21) Trust in God's plan versus you're own. If you're finding above average resistance in your current journey, or you just aren't happy, start talking to God about it. Ask Him if this is indeed His will for you. Then be patient. Be still. Wait. Don't quit your job. Don't just stop living your life as you have been. Just trust that God will provide you encouragements on your path, one way or the other. God is ONLY faithful. When you accept Jesus into your life "He's" now in charge. He will work on you from the inside out from that day forward, only for your good, and ALL for His glory. God has big plans for those whom He has chosen, are faithful to Him, and will be obedient to His calling. Is that you? I hope and pray that it is. "be confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)
