Recently, I've heard that some churches are saying that there are "numerous" ways someone can enter heaven. What a dangerous, and I believe utterly false, teaching. The Bible is VERY clear, there is only "ONE" way to heaven and that's through Jesus. Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." and John 14:6, Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
I also recently read that a leader of a large church group is saying there is no hell, or if there is one, it'll be empty. Wow. Here again, what a dangerous, and I believe utterly false, teaching. Revelation 21:8, "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”, Matthew 13:42, "They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." and, 2 Thessalonians 1:9, "They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might." Believing there will be no hell, and there are other ways to heaven other than through Jesus, is believing you can do whatever you want in this life (in spite of what the Bible says), DENY that Jesus came and sacrificed himself for your sins and for your salvation, and then God will just say, "well, that's ok, you can still come into My perfect presence and live with Me for all eternity." Does that really make sense to you? Would you want to take a chance like that even if it did "somehow" make sense to you? I sure didn't want to! And, I pray you won't want to either. As I stated above, these are a couple examples of extremely dangerous ideas, which I believe is also "false" doctrine as it strays from Biblical scripture. Why are some churches doing this? I think it's because they want to be liked by everyone, so they "conform" to the current societal ideas versus standing firm in scripture. These types of ideas might "feel" good because in the, everyone gets a trophy world, who wants to think that ANYONE will perish and end up in hell anymore? Why, "that just wouldn't be fair!", today's society would argue. Well, here's the truth. We are not living in some new "enlightened times" that's all of a sudden different than the last 2,000 years of Biblical teaching. Jesus is still the ONLY way to heaven and there's a hell waiting for non-believers as the Bible promises. You may "feel" like that sounds harsh, but it's the truth my friends, and I don't want you to be led astray or to perish. If you've already accept Jesus, be careful of these and other false teachings. If you haven't accepted Jesus yet, it's not too late. Remember, God wants NO ONE to perish, 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." So, wherever you are, get on your knees and earnestly pray to Jesus to come into your life. Romans 10:9-10, "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Amen.
