From Warrior Within Awake:
I want to share a few verses with you that really struck a chord with me. Paul is talking to the Corinthian Church in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. It says, “All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.” We are not alone. God shows us his heart, if we allow him, when we go through different times. God then allows that pain and hurt to be transformed into an understanding and love for those that are going through the same thing that we’ve gone through. God chooses to take what was meant for evil and turn it to good. The word transformation means to remake, overhaul, revamp or a renewal. The word renewal is very powerful as well, the replacing or repair of something that is worn out, run-down, or broken. This paints an image of a loving father, God, taking us, worn out and run-down and wrapping his loving arms around us. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” You are not alone! Run to your loving Father!
