Proverbs 31 Ministries:
As Christians, we must forget what is behind and press forward to what is ahead. We cannot idle our brains in the past, whether by exalting in the good times of glory days gone by or by wallowing in disappointment over what has transpired. In Christ, we are all promised to become something better than what we have been. Let’s focus more on the “promise” and focus less on the “have been.” Life is happening right in front of — not behind — you. Dear God, I don’t want to live in the past. I want to see what You are doing right now. You are a God who transforms and renews. Don’t let me get too busy looking behind me that I miss the future work You have planned for me. I want my life to reflect Jesus and the hope of the Gospel. - Karen Ehman

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her." (Ephesians 5:25)

Are you choosing yourself (and the world) or God (and His will for your life)? Not only does this choice have implications for your life today, but for all "eternity"!
Proberbs 31 Ministries:
We can respond to others with kindness because we’ve received kindness ourselves — and not just any kindness but the most extravagant display of kindness in human history. We don’t need to be empowered with a long list of dos and don’ts or a rah-rah pep talk for how to treat each other. Rather, we need to be in-powered by the Holy Spirit to see everyone through the eyes of love. No exceptions. Your husband, your best friend, your pastor. Plus the grouchy cashier, the silent strangers in the elevator, the real humans hiding behind avatars on Facebook, the mailman. God’s love is fierce and passionate for everyone. - Candace Cameron Bure Amen Candace! ♥🕆 ♥ Excerpt from Crosswalk.com:
Compared with having your name written down in heaven... everything else is next to nothing. In what do you take deepest delight? What is it that brings the greatest and most intense joy and happiness to your heart? I’m sure that many of us would point to our families, perhaps our children. Others might say that their greatest source of joy is their good health and good friends and a robust bank account. Of course, if Christians give much thought to the question they would eventually say, “My greatest source of joy is in knowing Jesus and being assured that I will spend an eternity in intimate fellowship with him.” Amen I say, and again I say, "AMEN"! ♥🕆♥ Whenever you encounter difficulties in your marriage (or relationship), take a BIG step back and make sure "YOU" are right with the Lord.
It may not be a "marital" problem, but an "eternity" problem. We should be honoring God in all life's circumstances, not just when we need something from Him. God is not a genie that we only go to with "wishes" and then expect them to be granted at the "snap" of a prayer. God wants a relationship with us, and like any relationship, they'll be good times and times where it feels like the wheels are coming off.
A relationship should be one of love, joy and support. Sounds like a good recipe for our relationship with Christ, because He'll never need our support, but yet He will provide it to us freely. He loved us so much that He died for the forgiveness of our sins, yet only asks that we believe in His sacrifice and invite Him into our hearts. And joy, well, let's just say that when you repent for your sins, there IS joy in the heavens, "in the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15:10. So remember, "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be joyful in your salvation made possible through your relationship with Jesus! Love Him at all times and in all situations (no matter how difficult), because He will always support you and will never abandon you. For it is known, that in this life you will have troubles, but take heart, as He has overcome the world! |
